The Mauerwirt country house provides 8 genuine arolla pinewood holiday apartments in Bad Kleinkirchheim under one roof. As part of the complete refurbishment of the apartments in Carinthia, all the wooden furniture was made out of arolla pinewood and supplied directly by a carpenter. Following a unique concept, old traditional forms were incorporated into a new design. This combination has resulted in a special living ambience, enhanced by the proven health benefits of the pinewood furniture.
In addition to the apartments, we also welcome guests in our hotel Ortners Eschenhof.

At our family-run hotel in Carinthia, we live, work and enjoy life close to nature. You as a guest are also invited to let the alpine nature set the rhythm of your day. A family that takes its time
For the Ortner family, giving time to their guests is more of a vocation than a profession. The Eschenhof was built as a small bed and breakfast in the early 1960s. The married couple Hildegard and Gerhard Ortner took it over from their parents and expanded it to its present size with plenty of diligence and love. Their sons Martin and Maximilian grew up in the hotel business and both completed medical studies. After gaining experience at home and abroad, Dr. Martin Ortner seized the opportunity to set up his own practice in his parents' hotel. His practice in Eschenhof was opened on 18 January 2023.
Alpine Slowness: A timeless concept
The concept of redefining time on holiday is an all-encompassing one at the Eschenhof. With a skilful interplay of offers, you are invited to step into a parallel world of perceived slowness. Families and couples in particular should have time for themselves again, find peace and enjoy nature. Contact with nature in the Nockberge biosphere reserve is a constant feature of guided excursions at any time of day and within the framework of childcare. Our goal? That young and old regenerate both physically and mentally, and take a part of our philosophy home with them.
